I think it is safe to say that there is nothing the President could do that would be non-controversial, given the hyper-partisan attitudes which Republicans have brought to the game since Newt Gingrich&#039;s Contract on America in 1994.  From their point of view, all that matters is regaining absolute power, whatever the cost.</description>
