Updates and a Teaser…

A few site updates for today:

  • We’ve set up new email accounts to use for the blog, which are shown on the sidebar and in the “About the Authors” page. These are simpler and easier to remember than the old rocketmail account, which we won’t be using anymore.
  • Speaking of email, we’d love to hear from you if you have any information you’d like to share, or if you have ideas or suggestions for the blog. Our vision for this page is that it will continue to grow as a gathering place for urbanists in Houston and anyone else interested in joining the discussion. What we care about is serving as a voice for change, and if you have and idea you’d like us to consider, or have some way that you’d like to join the effort, let us know!
  • Dave has added some books to the book store! The “Technology” selection are books from his collection, and he also added some to “Social Science.” We hope you all enjoy the list, and appreciate your support if you do decide to buy a book through our store!
  • Also new today is a collection page called “Theory and Background Materials,” which contains a list of all the major theoretical series or conceptual series that I refer back to on a regular basis. These are some of the highlights and best features from the blog. This is a page for newcomers to get caught up, or for regular readers to make sure they haven’t missed any of the groundwork for our discussions. I hope you find this helpful, feel free to comment here and let me know what you think!
  • Lastly, I’ve got a small teaser for our loyal readers… I’ve been covering a lot of basic theory recently. That’s important, but it’s not as much fun as digging into the details of how to make Houston a better city. This week we’ll be focused on how to apply some of these ideas, which should be a lot of fun!

As always, thanks for reading, and stay tuned!
