News and Updates

Good morning everyone! We’ve got a handful of updates for you, including some additions and tweaks to the site!

First off, we have two new pages on the blog. The first is our very own book store, which we hope you’ll like. You can access the book store from the link at the top of any page. The book store is powered by Amazon.com, and through their associates program neoHOUSTON will receive a small referral fee for any books sold through our site. So, if you choose to buy a book through our page, you’ll be supporting this site and helping us cover the cost of running a server and a domain, which we really appreciate!

What you’ll find in the book store is a small selection that I’ve picked off my bookshelf. These are what I consider to be ‘definitive’ works, that is, they are excellent books that are the best or among the best in their subject area. I kept the list small to avoid overlap between similar books. I bet you probably own a few of the books on my list, but if you don’t own them all, you might consider picking up the ones you haven’t read yet. I highly recommend each of the books on the list, and I hope you enjoy reading them.

Next, we’ve added a Twitter link on the sidebar. This will take you to my twitter page, which I use to post a few things here and there. Mostly I announce new posts, and little bits of news that are (hopefully!) interesting but not quite right for the blog. This is just an intro to our Twitter use, however. Dave and I are working on ideas to make that service more valuable, and we’re looking forward to an announcement regarding Twitter some time in the future.

We’ve also tweaked our headlines so that a post’s category is displayed above it. This should help to associate posts with their various categories, and hopefully will help readers find more of the posts they enjoy the most.

Lastly, we’ve posted our privacy policy online. This is important because our sidebar features a Google Ad which has an associated cookie. If you’d like to know more about that, and more about our privacy statements in general, you can follow the link above or the link at the bottom of any page.

We’re excited about these new features, and hope you enjoy them. If you have any questions or comments, post them on this page! And as always, thanks for reading!
