Merry Christmas Eve!

Best wishes to all for a happy holiday!

I’ll leave you with an interesting read to last the next few days, it’s from Thomas Friedman at the New York Times: Time to Reboot America.

In the article Friedman basically shares the same experience that nearly everyone who has traveled to other leading countries has experienced. Our infrastructure is beginning to fall behind other industrialized nations, and the gap in some cases is so large it’s really humbling.

While I still believe (and Friedman seems to as well) that America remains the greatest nation in the world, we really do need to wake up and choose not to let our history of exceptionalism decline into mediocrity.

A generation of selfish “what have you done for me lately” mentality has replaced our nation’s heritage as sturdy, self-reliant people with a collective belief in a higher calling. We need that higher calling back. We need to remember that the world is watching us, and that our example is a force for freedom and liberty throughout the world.

We have a lot of work to do if we want to maintain our position of leadership in the world, but we can do it! And I believe we will.

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all have a blessed holiday season!
